1. Sit the victim down with the head tilted slightly forward.
2. Pinch the soft parts of the nose together between your thumb and two fingers for at least 5-10 minutes
3. Apply ice (crushed in a plastic bag or wash cloth) to the nose, cheeks and back of the neck.
4. If the nose bleed stops, make sure the victim does not blow his or her nose for the next few hours as this may restart the bleed.
5. If the nose bleed continues, call 082 911.
