Winkle bowlers hit the greens
The women’s Caltex twinkle trips takes place on Wednesday, 11 September
Winkle Bowling Club members are reminded that the closing date for all club competitions is Friday, 27 September.
Check the board and make arrangements to play any outstanding games as soon as possible. The greens will close for maintenance on Monday, 7 October for six weeks.
In the women’s nominated trips, Estelle van der Merwe, Margaret van Belkum and Shirley De Wee defeated Annalie Pienaar, Wilma Richter and Linda Hobbs. In the semi-final, Elaine Critchlow, Sheila Court and Sandy Snyman overcame Estelle van der Merwe, Margaret van Belkum and Shirley De Wee.
In the mixed nominated pairs, John Scott and Lynn Fitzsimmons defeated Brian Farmer and Elmarie Young. Wessie van der Westerhuizen and Margaret van Belkum overcame Basil and Sylveigh Ananiadis. Bill and Linda Hobbs beat Rob Stewart and Sheila Court in the mixed nominated 2-4-2.
In the men’s Clearwater Spur 2-4-2 played on Thursday, 29 August, winners were John Scott and Tony Fitzsimmons. Second session winners were Brian Farmer and Dries Snyman. The 100 board was won by Coy Schrauven. In the monthly nominated trips played on Sunday, 1 September, winners were Mike Kruger, Kokkie De Kock and Di Kruger. Second session winners were Elaine Critchlow, Coy Schrauven and Lorna Sourgen. The 100 board was won by Andre Gelderblom.
The women’s Caltex twinkle trips takes place on Wednesday, 11 September and the men’s trips will be played on Thursday, 12 September. The monthly tabs in mixed trips is on Saturday, 14 September.
Social bowls is on Wednesdays and Fridays at 1.30pm for 2pm. Last week’s attendance draw was won by Sylveigh Ananiadis, but as she was not present, there is a carry-over. The meal for this Friday evening is lasagna, salad, jelly and custard. Put your name on the board or contact Trish Farmer if you wish to attend.
