Crime is plaguing our community [LETTER]
Security companies and neighbourhood watches are going beyond their call of duty, but we need more visible policing.

EDITOR – What is happening in our community?
Crime in the area is out of control. I used to feel safe knowing that I am protected in my community, but recently I feel I have to constantly be looking over my shoulder.
Hijackings, muggings and violence seems to be plaguing our neighbourhood, that once set a standard for other communities to follow.
What are the authorities doing about this?
Security companies and neighbourhood watches are going beyond their call of duty, but we need more visible policing.
When a crime or a violent incident occurs, we take to social media to vent our frustrations, but everything is forgotten hours later.
We need to take a stand, it is bewildering to me that the Toti community seems to be fighting a losing battle to social ills.
We have so much to offer as a community, but it is being overshadowed by a cloud of crime.
I appeal to everyone that lives in this community to report any crime that takes place in Toti.
No matter how big or small the crime is, we need to make a difference.
If not, you could be the next statistic and to me, that is not the life I want to live.
WORRIED.
