Winklespruit bush to be trimmed
Activities will be conducted under supervision of a qualified horticulturist.

Ward 97 councillor, André Beetge, reports that the parks department will assist with the removal of some vegetation at Winklespruit Testing Grounds in the next week.
After a recent assessment, the vegetation is categorised as: Alien species that require immediate removal; dead trees requiring removal; exotic trees that can be pruned and preserved; and indigenous trees but contributing to bush encroachment, justifying selective tree removal.
“Where possible, recommendations will be made regarding the replacement of some of the species. The bush behind DSM Mall, along the fence perimeter of Sizakala Centre, will be cut back. This follows complaints corroborated by personal observations made of the homeless, vagrants and drug dealers harbouring in the undergrowth during a recent crime prevention initiative in the area.
“Activities will be conducted under supervision of a qualified horticulturist,” said Beetge.
