Amanzimtoti Racing Pigeon Club kicks off the season with good pigeon racing results
This was a make or break race for club mates Doug Fry and Basil Tait.

Amanzimtoti Racing Pigeon Club’s final race of the season was a yearling race flown from Pietersburg, a distance of 680 km.
The birds were liberated in good weather at 6.15am. This was a make or break race for club mates Doug Fry and Basil Tait. Both kits of birds had flown exceptionally well throughout the young bird programme and at the time of release, Basil was leading Doug in the federation points by two points.
Doug’s first bird arrived at 2.49pm which was enough to win the club and take second federation as well. However, Basil was not to be outdone. He finished second in club and fourth in the federation, two points behind Doug.
The result was that Doug and Basil tied for federation yearling champion which is a pleasing result for the Toti club. Toti’s overall club champion was Doug Fry, followed by Basil Tait and Danny Bradshaw.
