Senior frogs win Umkomaas Golf Club men’s inter-club competition

Three of the five men’s teams qualified for the finals on Sunday, 27 October.

The Umkomaas men and women enjoyed an action packed weekend of golf at their respective inter-club competitions.

Three of the five men’s teams qualified for the finals on Sunday, 27 October, with the senior frogs team coming out on top. Congratulations to Graham Coxell, Bing Opie and Keith Vergottini on their victory.

The youngsters, Chris Pillay, Mickey Erikson and Riek Janse van Rensburg played superbly on the first two days to lead the frogs division, but sadly fell agonizingly short in the match play, being counted out to second place. Well done to the boys on their fine performance.

The Umkomaas women traveled to Richards Bay for the KZN women’s inter club competition and while they didn’t manage to come in the prizes, they had a great time and flew the Umkomaas flag proudly. Compliments on their final evening outfits, in support of the 101 Dalmatians theme, were happily received as the women pulled out all the stops as Cruella De Vil’s.

Umkomaas Golf Club will support the Boks in full force on Saturday, 2 November, as they take on England in the rugby World Cup final. Visitors are always welcome at #thefriendliestclub.
