Volunteers are keeping busy and having a ball of a time designing and sewing masks for hospital staff to use while travelling home.
The initiative is going extremely well and an appeal is made for more volunteers to use their time in lockdown to help create cotton masks and bags.
If you would like to assist, it is preferable for the masks to be three-ply in cotton and the design is not crucial.
Sharon Zulch, who is part of the initiative said, “A huge thank you to all the unseen heroes that have shown selflessness in the drive to make homemade masks and bags for the campaign to ensure the staff at Kingsway Hospital travel to and from work using public transport. All assistance has been much appreciated and well-received. Thank you for your support. We have asked for the drawstring bags to be 50x50cm, this is an average guideline. If the bag is not the exact size, it will not be turned away,” she said.
