Gone, but not forgotten: Prominent school principal will be missed
Retired police officers will miss her walking into their monthly meetings just to say hi to everyone and to ensure that all was well.
It is with deep regret and much sadness that the community learnt of the passing on of Kelly Ann de Villiers, wife of Warrant Officer Jerome de Villiers.
Kelly has supported and assisted retired police members of Pietermaritzburg and Durban for some time. As the principal of Chistlehurst Academics and Arts she granted permission to utilise the school hall and other facilities where the meetings were held since October 2016.
At the first meeting they walked into an exquisitely decorated hall and dining area with a rustic theme. Kelly worked early into the morning preparing the hall.
When the members invited their Durban officers to Pietermaritzburg she personally worked late into the night to beautifully decorate the hall with tables and chairs, flowers on each table for the members and the guests. Retired police officers will miss her walking into their monthly meetings just to say hi to everyone and to ensure that all was well.
On behalf of retired police officers, Pietermaritzburg and Durban, farewell Kelly.
