Amanzimtoti Cricket Club opens clubhouse

The sunny weather was incredible and the turn-out of spectators was remarkable.

It was history in the making at Amanzimtoti Cricket Club when members hosted the grand opening of its clubhouse. It was the first time that a clubhouse was formed since the opening of the organisation in 1965.

Fans and players were also delighted and eager to commence friendly matches at Amanzimtoti Cricket Club on Saturday, 14 November. The sunny weather was incredible and the turn-out of spectators was remarkable. Despite not being given the go-ahead from Cricket South Africa to commence formal matches, the friendlies were well enjoyed.

“This was indeed a landmark milestone for the club,” said vice-chairperson of the club, Matthew Hamer. The day saw a lot of original members and founding member, Ray Ruiter, was there as well. The event was a tremendous success and included games between the junior and women teams. It was a wonderful way to kick off our upcoming programme. Thank you to everyone who assisted in making the day incredible.”

Unfortunately, there is no scheduled match yet.
