Kingsburgh Welfare inspires youth at workshop
The youth empowerment programme was held on Friday, 18 June, and the electrical skills practical workshop was presented by Sheldon Johnstone from Prolook Electrical solutions.

Young job seekers and aspiring entrepreneurs were captivated and inspired following an informative electrical workshop at Kingsburgh Child and Family welfare (KCFW). Young people are encouraged to participate in Youth Month programmes by recognising the present and future roles of the youth in shaping the socio-economic landscape of the country.
“South Africa is fortunate to have a youthful nation. However, the recent unemployment statistics pertaining to young people is cause for concern. The 2020 fourth-quarter labour force survey found that 8.6 million young people, aged between 15 and 34 years, are not in education and employment,” said social worker, Sandra Govender.
The youth empowerment programme was held on Friday, 18 June, and the electrical skills practical workshop was presented by Sheldon Johnstone from Prolook Electrical solutions.
“Aspects of this training included safety of working with electricity, inspecting cords and plugs, wiring as well as circuits. We at the welfare feel positive about the impact this programme has had on the young minds. It has inspired change and provided encouragement and hope to young people. We thank the company for giving back to the community.”
