Suspect shot after allegedly robbing a woman on Dickens Road

It is alleged that when a Metro Police officer the tried to approach and apprehend the suspect, he lunged at him with a pair of scissors, resulting in the officer firing a shot to defend himself.

A suspect was shot after he allegedly robbed a woman on Dickens Road a short while ago. Emer-G-Med Paramedics were called to the scene to assist. It is alleged that when a Metro Police officer the tried to approach and apprehend the suspect, he lunged at him with a pair of scissors, resulting in the officer firing a shot to defend himself.

“The man was treated and stabilised before being taken under police guard to a nearby hospital for further medical care,” said a release from Emer-G-Med Paramedics.
