#50YearsAgo From humble beginnings

Since the school opened its doors, it has been a place where all students in Kwa-Zulu Natal and beyond, can call home.

ISIPINGO Primary School was started as a private school in 1892. The school was opposite the Reunion Trading Store. Mr Joshua was the first principal and there were 35 learners.

In 1909, Isipingo Primary School was given state-aided status. The principal of the Isipingo Government Aided Indian School was Mr V Chinappen.

The log book entry dated January 29, 1940, indicates that the school accommodated 204 learners, 154 of whom were taught classes in the hall. The Isipingo Tamil School Committee installed electricity in 1946.
