Roodepoort youth take charge of Karridene clean-up
Learskool Roodekrans learners took on a beach clean-up at Karridene alongside Clean Surf Project and Outdoor Environmental Education Africa.
UPWARDS of 100 Grade Seven learners from Laerskool Roodekrans in Roodepoort joined NPO Clean Surf Project and tour operator Outdoor Environmental Education Africa for an inspiring clean-up at Karridene Beach on August 5.

Romy Wenzel, of Clean Surf Project, extended a special thank you to ATKV Natalia for its continued support and for providing a space for environmental education presentations.
“Together, we tackled plastic pollution hidden along the shoreline, in the sand, and among the dune vegetation, learning first-hand how litter impacts our oceans,” said Wenzel.
She emphasised the vital importance of putting into practise the three Rs of waste management, namely reduce, re-use and recycle.
