Paint shop catches fire in Isipingo

The fire was made worse by chemicals and paint contained inside the hardware.

NO injuries have been reported after a fire erupted in the middle of the night in an Isipingo hardware store during the early hours of Thursday, March 3.

A video showing Africa Paints being consumed by raging flames has been circulating on social media, with the person behind the camera requesting emergency services to quickly make their way to Seeboo Road.

Answering the phone later in the morning, an Africa Paints employee confirmed the fire and said the store manager was too busy dealing with the situation and could not give a statement to the media. eThekwini Municipality firefighters responded to the scene and managed to put out the blaze.
