While the man could not be disturbed from his high to ask for his name, he can be usually seen around the Doonside station area on most days begging for money from motorists and passersby.
According to information from SAPS, there are a number of illegal drugs that are affecting different communities but heroin use has been on the increase for the past few years. Heroin users can get the high from either smoking it as whoonga, injecting, or snorting it.
Sanca Durban offers free outpatient drug and alcohol counselling and can be reached on 031 202 2274.
The police were informed about the man and that he might need assistance.
