Join Toti’s community action group
The group will liaise with city management and arrange meetings once a month to discuss service delivery issues.
ON Tuesday, April 12, at 17:30, The View Boutique Hotel and Spa will be hosting the first meeting for the formation of a community action group.
“Due to the derogation of our Amanzimtoti CBD and surrounding areas, we are embarking on creating a community action group to deal with all issues to bring the town back to its beautiful glory.
We will open the meeting and discuss its name, The Community Priority Group, select a chairperson and a committee. This is not going to happen without the assistance from the eThekwini Municipality, as our aim is to deal with all issues pertaining to service delivery,” said interim chairperson and owner, George Lithgow.

The Community Priority Group plans on addressing issues such as street lights, roads, parks, the CBD and the upgrading of the nearby taxi rank. The group will liaise with city management and arrange meetings once a month to discuss service delivery.
Lithgow went on to say that the formation of a group like this was long overdue because when people think of Amanzimtoti, they think of the CBD, which is unmaintained, run down and at times dangerous.
“I’ve lived here my whole life and it has never looked this bad, even the value of properties have been affected. Who knows what our once beautiful town will look like in the next five years, it’s going to hit rock bottom unless we, as a community, do something about it,” he said.
To be part of the committee and get involved, RSVP your attendance with Amanda du Plessis, manager of Lifegro in Amanzimtoti CBD, at info@zealprop.com.
