Join the CommUnity Project beach clean-up

Help the CommUnity Project and the team from Clean Surf Project keep our oceans plastic-free, beautiful and clean.

THE CommUnity Project will be hosting a beach clean-up on Saturday, July 16, at the Illovo Beach Rivermouth at 09:00 – in celebration of Mandela Day.

The CommUnity Project is a community-driven project, by the community, for the community.

Said committee member, Michelle Arenz, “The project was originally founded by CityHill Church Amanzimtoti in 2017, but I would say that over the years the project has been managed more and more by the community.”

“Sadly, it came to a halt during the pandemic, but this year is a restart for us, and we are very excited to see what a difference this community is going to make once more,” said Arenz.

Bring gloves, shoes, water, a hat and sunscreen. Refuse bags will be supplied. Meeting place is at Boardwalk, Camp Road in Winklespruit.

“The people of Amanzimtoti are a force to be reckoned with when they unite, so we’re excited about making a difference and looking forward to our kick-off project on Saturday. We encourage you to invite friends, family and colleagues to get involved,” said Michelle.
