Despite ward 97 councillor André Beetge's extended efforts, the matter still remains unresolved as even more areas are reporting either low pressure or no supply.

These areas have had no water since March 15, which uMngeni-uThukela Water attributed to a South Coast Augmentation system breakdown. This has also led to more areas reporting low pressure.

Ward 97 councillor André Beetge said that despite his extended efforts to secure assistance from different officials in the eThekwini Municipality hierarchy, the matter remains unresolved.

“We discussed the matter with the head of water and the area manager on Tuesday morning (April 2) and have been informed that they will be extending their full attention to getting the matter addressed and resolved,” said Beetge.

He added that a tanker will be availed to assist with supply to the high areas of Illovo Beach.
