On December 2, the CPF team partnered with the Athlone Park Clinic’s staff to host the annual World AIDS Day and GBV prevention programme.

In a statement, the CPF thanked the staff for their warm welcome and for the dedication with which they serve the Athlone Park community.

“Our team was joined by the Athlone Park Community Police Sub-Forum, Amanzimtoti SAPS Social Crime Prevention team, Amanzimtoti SAPS Spiritual Network and Immanuel Full Gospel Church. We especially thank Immanuel Full Gospel Church for the donation of fruit for the patients as well as Usizo-lomndeni.org for the sandwiches, Sparrow Trust for the gifts for the kids, and Jarefs Paints and DIY Centre for providing the sound equipment and pamphlets. Together, through conversation and relationship building, we can improve the safety of our residents,” it said.

Another event was held at Kingsburgh Clinic, reaching patients from across the Amanzimtoti policing area. The team shared words of encouragement, and festive season safety reminders and highlighted tactics currently used by criminals to use and abuse our community.

At a women’s dialogue held at Ocean Call, the CPF focused on safety tips and GBV prevention. The CPF thanked everyone who participated.
