Injured infant monkey rescued in Amanzimtoti

The infant monkey, rescued in Amanzimtoti, is well on her way to recovery at the Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife.

THE Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (Crow) has a new resident, an infant monkey, that was rescued in Amanzimtoti recently.

In a statement, Crow said injuries on the monkey’s body suggested it might have survived an attack.

“Upon examination, our dedicated team discovered an injury to her eye, a small scrape on her left ear, a tear on the skin of her right arm, and a mark on her tail,” it said.

After arrival, the infant was quickly put on medication and fluids were administered.

“She is now stable and is receiving round-the-clock care from our primate nurse,” the statement said.
