Clean Surf Project sweeps from Doonside to Chain Rocks

You can be a part of beautifying Amanzimtoti's beloved beaches by joining the organisation for its clean-up on June 7 at Umbogintwini beach.

CLEAN Surf Project carried out a much-needed cleaning operation along the coastal stretch from Doonside to Chain Rocks from May 12 to May 15.

Romy Wenzel of the Clean Surf Project applauded volunteers, Vusi Michael Zondi and Siyabonga Sibusiso Cele, who collected an astounding 133 rubbish bags of waste and eight bags of recyclable material.

“A massive thank you to Michael and Siyabonga, for their dedication and the back-breaking work they did in service of Amanzimtoti’s beaches. Thumbs up to eThekwini Beach Cleansing for prompt removal of the rubbish bags,” said Wenzel.

In celebration of World Oceans Day, the Clean Surf Project will conduct a community beach clean-up on June 7 at Umbogintwini Beach, Amanzimtoti Country Club. Refuse bags will be supplied.
