Tourism in the Sapphire Coast has never looked so good, and it's being recognised too, with the Durban Tourism Awards.

A TRIO of shining stars promoting tourism in Amanzimtoti, Wheels on Waves, Gary’s Horses, and The View Boutique Hotel and Spa, received awards at Durban Tourism’s fourth annual tourism awards on June 18 at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre.

The winners in each category received cash prizes up to R50 000. Amanzimtoti’s Gary’s Horses won the exceptional visitor experience award while Wheels on Waves took the universally accessible and green sustainability award.

Romy Wenzel of Sapphire Coast Tourism congratulated the winners, as well as runners-up from Amanzimtoti, Baligrand Lodge and Spa and ATKV Natalia. She encouraged all members to enter for the next edition.

Wenzel said, “It is a wonderful achievement for the South Region of eThekwini, showcasing the many different types of tourism offerings to be explored by locals and visitors.”
