Bathers welcome to enjoy 21 beaches across eThekwini
With the majority of beaches passing the municipality's weekly water quality test, bathers are expected to continue enjoying local beaches.
THE shores of the Sapphire Coast are beckoning bathers to take a trip to the beach after the eThekwini Municipality’s beach water quality visits yielded positive results for all but one beach.

The municipality issued a public notice that 21 beaches across the city remain open and safe for swimming and recreational activities, however, Reunion Beach in Isipingo and Country Club beach in Durban Central have been temporarily closed due to water quality concerns.

“The closure is necessary to safeguard public health and will remain in place until water quality improves. All other beaches are unaffected and will continue to welcome visitors,” read the notice.
Beach water quality samples are taken weekly and results are shared with the public as soon as they become available. For more information on beach water quality visit www.durban.gov.za.
