Vehicle thief nabbed in Amanzimtoti

A local security company and Amanzimtoti police apprehended a vehicle theft suspect after receiving information from a tracking company.

A SWIFT response by local security companies and Amanzimtoti police led to the apprehension of a vehicle theft suspect on April 15.

ET Rapid Response’s Tony Lokker explained that after information was received from a vehicle tracking company regarding a stolen vehicle in Amanzimtoti, the details were circulated to local law enforcement.

“Members of our tactical response team were joined by Amanzimtoti police crime prevention and began searching for the vehicle. The vehicle was soon located, and upon noticing the responding units, the suspects attempted to flee. A short foot chase ensued, which resulted in one suspect being successfully apprehended,” said Lokker.

The stolen vehicle was recovered on scene severely stripped. Upon further investigation, the suspect was found to be in possession of car break-in implements.
