The woman was shot seven times in the incident that happened just before 07:00. A source who is familiar with the incident said it might have been a hit, as the woman was a witness in a kidnapping case and was scheduled to testify in court today.

According to ALS Paramedics’ spokesperson, Garrith Jamieson, the woman sustained gunshot wounds to her upper body.

“Paramedics assessed the patient, however, there was nothing they could do for her, and she was declared deceased on the scene,” said Jamieson.

The area where the incident happened falls under the KwaMakhutha policing precinct, and an investigation is underway.
