A TRAGIC mass shooting at a home in the Iziko area of KwaMakhutha left 11 dead and four injured on Tuesday night (September 22). The deceased include a heavily pregnant woman.

The Premier of KZN, Thamsanqa Ntuli, is currently (September 23) on scene to assess the situation and engage with law enforcement officials, community representatives and affected families following the gruesome shooting. Police and the forensic pathology service are processing the scene at the Memela household.

There were 14 people inside the home when gunmen opened fire. The victims were gathered at a house around 23:00 when armed assailants reportedly entered the premises and opened fire.

The KZN Provincial Government extended its deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives.
