The affected areas include Inwabi, Seeboo, and Thie roads, as well as Willow Creek Place. Ward 90 councillor Shad Nowbuth said the outage was the result of medium voltage cable faults that affected eight substations.

“According to reports received from the Electricity Department, the primary fault was repaired, but a second fault was detected on the same cable. Feedback has been requested on the completion time frame and restoring power to affected areas,” said Nowbuth.

Another team of electricians is working to expose the damaged cable between Transcend Flats and Gopaulsingh Road. Nowbuth said digging is done by hand to ensure that other underground cables are not damaged.

“Repairs would commence once the damaged cable is exposed,” he said.
