Refuse collection schedule during the Easter period

eThekwini Municipality has asked everyone to stick to the schedule and play their part in keeping the City clean.

ETHEKWINI Municipality has announced that refuse collection services will continue as normal throughout the Easter period, including all upcoming public holidays.

Residents are to place the black and blue garden refuse bags on the verge on their scheduled collection day. In a statement, eThekwini said recyclables should be retained during these dates and placed out on the next scheduled collection day that is not a public holiday.

“The City encourages everyone to contribute to a cleaner, litter-free Easter period by practising responsible waste management. We all have a role to play to keep the City clean, play yours,” read the statement.

Orange recycling bags will not be collected on the following public holidays:
• April 3 – Good Friday
• April 6 – Easter Monday
• April 27 – Freedom Day
• May 1 – Workers’ Day
