Amanzimtoti SPCA appeals for soft food for cats

With their stock running low, the SPCA is appealing to community members to donate soft or canned kitten and cat food.

THE Amanzimtoti SPCA is urgently appealing to the community for donations of kitten and cat tinned / soft food for animals in its care.

Amanzimtoti SPCA’s Michelle Hannan said in addition to the cats and kittens that are up for adoption at the animal shelter, there are also their yard cats that need to be fed.

“Kitten food is scarce, and most people buy adult food because it’s more affordable. We are currently in urgent need of soft kitten/cat food. Please consider making a donation or doing an EFT,” she said.

As a non-profit organisation, they are fully reliant on donations and support from the public to feed the animals in their care, as well as to keep doing the work they do in and around Amanzimtoti.

Monetary donations can be made at the following banking details: Amanzimtoti SPCA, First National Bank, Galleria branch code: 220 127, Account number: 62807184552, Reference: food/surname.

Food donations can also be dropped off at Dr Hoole Doonside Vet, SPCA’s charity shops at 115 Kingsway Road in Warner Beach and 3 Scott Street in Scottburgh, its premises at 1 Nyati Road in Athlone Park or its food bins at Pick ‘n Pay Hyper Arbour Crossing and Kingsburgh Centre.

If you would like a thank you letter and/or an 18A tax receipt, email proof of payment and your details to pro@spcatoti.co.za. For more information, contact the Toti SPCA on 031 904 2424.
