Robbery at Seadoone Mall

The robbery comes two days after another Pep store was robbed in Winklespruit.

PEP stores were dealt another blow on Friday, May 12, when yet another one of their shops was robbed, just two days after suffering another robbery.

According to the Community Crime Prevention Organisation Amanzimtoti (CCPO) the Seadoone Mall Pep branch in Doonside was attacked by four armed robbers at around 09:00.

“The robbers entered the store and held up staff with firearms. An undisclosed amount of new cellphones was taken,” read the statement.

Two days ago, the DSM Mall branch of Pep in Winklespruit was robbed by five men who held up the staff and made away with new cellphones, cash, and vouchers. They also took a customer’s ring.  No one was injured in the recent robberies, and no suspects have been arrested.

Last November, Seadoone Mall Pep was robbed of new cellphones worth R500 000, but the suspects were arrested as they made their getaway.
