This is not the first time PEP stores have been targeted in the area. On May 12, the Seadoone Mall PEP branch in Doonside was attacked by four armed robbers who held staff up with firearms before taking off with an undisclosed number of cellphones.

Two days prior, the DSM Mall branch of PEP in Winklespruit was robbed by five men who held up the staff and made away with new cellphones, cash, and vouchers.

Last November, Seadoone Mall PEP was also robbed of new cellphones worth R500 000, but the suspects were arrested as they made their getaway.
