Police officers march against GBV in Folweni
Police officers created awareness on gender-based violence as part of their 16 Days of Activism campaign.
AS PART of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign, officers from the Folweni police station embarked on an awareness walkabout and a candle-lighting ceremony in the area recently.

The event was done in collaboration with local community police forums and patrollers to highlight and raise awareness of gender-based crime, especially that committed against women and children. In a statement, the police said pamphlets were distributed at the area’s shopping centre and the police answered the community’s questions.
The annual 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence event is observed from November 25 to December 10.
On December 7, officers from the station also visited the Uthingo Crisis Centre and handed over a donation of items to replenish supplies. Uthingo Crisis Centre provides free trauma debriefing and counselling to victims of abuse.
