The station’s Communications Officer, Constable Donald Naidoo, said they were enforcing the by-laws on the ground as various operations were conducted over two days earlier this month.
“The operation saw the police claiming back the streets of Isipingo, which in the past few years has been infamous for recklessness and lawlessness,” he said.
The integrated multi-disciplinary operations resulted in arrests.
“Seizures were also made, varying from dangerous weapons to drugs, liquor and illicit cigarettes. Some of the arrested individuals were released after paying fines while the others are expected to appear in various magistrate’s courts soon,” said Naidoo.
Isipingo Police Station Commander Colonel Hemsford Musa Zama said partnering with such a strong and committed group of people will yield great results and unify the community.
“The operation was a great success, and they are going to be a weekly practice at my station. I want to thank all our E2 members for working together with the Isipingo Police Station in cleaning our streets and making our community a safer place,” he said.
