Amanzimtoti Tennis Club offers developmental lessons for children
The club's free developmental clinic is a great way for children to keep active and improve hand-eye coordination.
THE Amanzimtoti Tennis Club offers free Saturday morning coaching for children aged seven to 17, focusing on skill development and fun.
Whether a beginner or looking to advance, children will benefit from coach Michael ‘Mike’ Ngoma’s expert guidance, which focuses on technique, confidence and enjoyment. The sessions are from 08:00 to 09:15 during the school term.

The club provides racquets and balls, and children need to wear takkies.
Chairperson Alan Coetzer said the club has been offering free developmental lessons since 2003 as a means to give back to the community and to give all children from all walks of life an opportunity to play and enjoy the sport.

“With schools and government not too focused on tennis, this initiative offers a valuable opportunity for children to engage in a rewarding sport that teaches discipline and offers a space to learn new skills and make new friends,” he said, adding that it is a sport that can be played into your senior years.
Homeschooler JC Cronje recently came for another tennis session. For the 11-year-old, tennis is a great way to have fun, keep active and master his hand-eye coordination.
