Isipingo Police Station’s spokesperson, Constable Donald Naidoo, is investigating several cases involving incidents in the Isipingo CBD.

“Reports indicate that since August 2024, four men allegedly extorted monthly payments from a local business by pretending to offer protection from robberies. The local business, especially the hawkers, reported the matter to the police. Isipingo SAPS will be leading a swift operation by a multidisciplinary task team,” said Naidoo.

He added that the main aim of the operation is to arrest the alleged extortionists so they can be positively identified by the complainants and be tried.
