The organisation assists those who are going through hardships that have rendered them destitute and in need. Its volunteers hand out monthly food hampers, and clothes and blankets, to families in Amanzimtoti and surrounds, among various initiatives. Hearts of Toti’s Alta Erasmus said that they get requests from families needing assistance every day, but the NPO’s resources are limited.

“Although we try not to turn families away, we cannot help unless we have food to help with. Donations have become very scarce. We urge the public to get involved, come and look what Hearts of Toti is all about,” said Erasmus.

The NPO will have a stall at the upcoming Highland Gathering. They are looking for a sponsor for a raffle, as well as pre-loved teddy bears. Contact Erasmus on 072 801 0746. Alternatively, monetary donations can be made into the bank account: Hearts of Toti, FNB, account number: 62897327344, branch code: 250655.
