Tidying up Amanzimtoti school area

A collaborative effort between local organisations and businesses brightened up Umdoni Road ahead of term one of the school year.

WHEN the call to help came from Sapphire Coast Tourism (SCT), Tidy Towns Amanzimtoti and Seabreeze Hardware, eThekwini Municipality Parks stepped in to help spruce up Umdoni Road.

Romy Wenzel of SCT said the roleplayers assisted by cutting and removing branches and clearing up the school precinct area of Umdoni Road to ensure safer and easier access for scholars and the community alike, right on time for the start of term one of the school year.

“Well done to everyone involved for a great effort on a sizzling hot summer day along the Sapphire Coast,” said Wenzel.

SCT plans to go one step further by repainting the bridge, commissioning local artist Christine Andrews to touch up the mural.
