Clean Surf Project organised the clean-up and the community focused its efforts on the corner of Illovo Beach Road and Princeville Road for a morning of environmental care.

Romy Wenzel of Sapphire Coast Tourism and the Clean Surf Project said the clean-up served to restore pride in the community, because a cleaner environment starts with individuals coming together to keep their communities clean, spick and span.

A total of 22 bags of waste were removed. Wenzel extended gratitude to each volunteer, as well as the Cleansing and Solid Waste Kingsburgh Unit for showing what community spirit looks like.

Wenzel aims to host another community campaign in March. To get involved contact 073 733 6468 or email cleansurfproject@gmail.com.
