Metro Police spokesperson Colonel Boysie Zungu said officers took enforcement action after traders were found operating unlawfully along the roadway, obstructing public space and failing to comply with the required trading regulations. The goods were confiscated and removed from the area.

“The metro police will continue with ongoing by-law enforcement operations to ensure compliance with municipal regulations and to keep public spaces safe, orderly, and accessible for all residents,” said Zungu.

Also on the same day, illegal structures were removed on the M35 near Isipingo by the By-Law Enforcement Unit. Zungu said officers dismantled and cleared the structure to restore the area and ensure that the roadway and surrounding public spaces remain safe and accessible to all road users.
