Amanzimtoti Primary joins forces with NPO for eco-workshop

World Turtle Day was celebrated as Amanzimtoti Primary School and Clean Surf Project hosted an environmental workshop for young eco-warriors.

GREEN fever spiked at Amanzimtoti Primary School on May 23 as learners attended an interactive learning and environmental education workshop by non-profit organisation, Clean Surf Project (CSP).

The eco-friendly event was in honour of World Turtle Day and allowed CSP to promote environmental awareness and its World Oceans Day beach clean-up, which takes place at Umbogintwini Beach on June 6.

The school’s Alice Surmon said there were 60 participants from schools around KZN.

“Our learners were able to meet with like-minded learners from other schools. They were able to interact with experts in the environmental sector,” said Surmon.

Romy Wenzel, of CSP, applauded the school, presenters and learners for embracing sustainable and environmentally-conscious living through meaningful initiatives.
