Kingsburgh Child Welfare reflects on its legacy at 81st AGM

Kingsburgh Child and Family Welfare looks back on its years of service during its 81st annual general meeting.

KINGSBURGH Child and Family Welfare (KCFW) marked a proud milestone of its storied legacy as it hosted its 81st annual general meeting on September 30.

The meeting was attended by community members, sponsors, well-wishers, management and staff of the non-profit organisation.

Social worker, Sandra Govender, reflected on the extensive work carried out over the past year during her address, acknowledging that while it is not easy, the organisation continues to contribute to positive change.

“Behind every number is a person, family and a story,” said Govender.

The NPO expressed heartfelt gratitude to Community Chest Durban, its main sponsor. Guest speaker of the day, executive director of Community Chest Durban, Gordon McDonald, delivered an insightful address on how, when and why Community Chest was started. He outlined its various funding initiatives and its vital role in supporting welfare organisations across KZN.

The management committee expressed sincere thanks to all donors, sponsors, supporters, social workers, staff and volunteers for making the 81st AGM a success and for walking this journey with us.

Shamitha Ramsuran, provincial director of Child Welfare South Africa, congratulated KCFW on reaching 81 years and commended the organisation for the outstanding work it continues to do.
