Kamalinee Primary dancers dazzle at Diwali festival

The primary school learners’ passion truly shone through on stage, captivating the audience with their dance talent at the Durban Diwali Festival.

KAMALINEE Primary School’s dance troupe captivated audiences at the Durban Diwali Festival on October 25, delivering a spectacular performance that celebrated culture and community.

The event, hosted by the South African Hindu Maha Sabha, was held at the Suncoast Festival Site over the weekend and consisted of music, dance, guest speakers, food, fashion, fireworks and much more.

Under the guidance of teachers, Minesha Singh, Mogie Padayachee and Trivani Govindsamy, the young dancers showcased their talents with vibrant costumes and energetic choreography, embodying the spirit of Diwali.

Singh, the dance coordinator, said the performance was met with thunderous applause, leaving the crowd in awe.

“The learners worked tirelessly to perfect their routine, and their passion truly shone through on stage. The performance not only highlighted the learners’ artistic skills but also emphasised the importance of cultural heritage. Festival-goers were treated to a joyous display of dance, music and vibrant visuals, making it a memorable highlight of the day,” she said.
