Seed of Hope career expo helps set learners on their paths

Seed of Hope provided an invaluable service to high school learners with its recent career expo, featuring experts in various fields.

VOLUNTEERS at Seed of Hope Community Development, Samkelisiwe Mdunge and Lwandle Ngcobo, recently hosted a career expo at its Malagazi-based centre to expose high school learners to career opportunities they can pursue after matric.

Learners from various schools including Mbambangwe, Amanzimtoti, Grosvenor Boys and Kingsway High Schools, as well as Adams and Canaan Colleges, and Ganges and Ullovu Secondary Schools, were in attendance.

Ikusaselihle, which translates to ‘bright future’, organised many of the expo’s presenters. It provides career guidance to schools in disadvantaged areas and provides mentorship to learners to equip them with enough knowledge about a particular study field to help them make informed decisions about their tertiary education.

“It shocked us seeing the number of learners who came through in their full school uniforms. They respected the invite even though it was a holiday. The expo featured professionals from different fields who shared valuable insights with the learners. We are so grateful for the support we received from Ikusaselihle for this event to be a success. Thank you to all the attendees,” said Ngcobo.
