In a fix over downed pole and wire

After 22 SMSes, a person came to look but nothing else.

EDITOR – On Thursday, 14 November a truck came down past our house and first pulled out our phone line, then carried on to knock over the telephone pole, severing several other phone lines.

Trying to convince the phone company that both our phone lines and their pole is down is a very frustrating experience.

They only accept one or the other – not both.

After 22 SMSes, a person came to look but nothing else. We have a 25mm cable lying in the street now for 11 days, which even snared a police car late at night.

Our phone received a temporary line yesterday but on Thursday, 14 November the low-lying cable was caught by the municipal DSW truck and survived. So today we hope they will remove their cable from our road before an accident occurs.
