Writer thanked for positive report on Israel

Thank you, Marie, for having the courage to speak the truth about Israel.

EDITOR – Regarding, ‘Israel has many lessons for South Africa,’ published in the Sun on 23 January.

Thank you, Marie Bowker, for your positive and loving report on your recent visit to Jerusalem.

The nation of Israel receives so much negative and unfair publicity that it cannot be ascribed to random prejudice. It seems a calculated plan and process to destroy Israel and its citizens. Those who read, believe in and interpret biblical prophecy, both Old and New Testament, understand that the future of Jerusalem is a war between those who ascribe to a belief in a Creator, a spirit being who calls Himself ‘I AM’ and surnames Himself ‘the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob,’and those who believe the bible is a collection of history, folklore and fables.

Nothing that is unfolding in the Middle East and the world comes as a surprise to students of bible prophecy.

A larger portion of biblical prophecy has already been fulfilled beyond a shadow of argument, and the remaining part is being fulfilled with breathtaking speed, and reported daily by news broadcasts throughout the world.

Jerusalem has a glorious future but before that must go through what the bible calls 'troubling times'.

Balaam of Peor (numbers 22, 23, 24), that enigmatic prophet who refused Balak (King of Moab), when he requested him to curse Israel, and instead spoke amazing prophecies over Israel, said this of Israel: (numbers 23:9) 'Behold, the people of Israel shall dwell alone and shall not be reckoned esteemed among the nations.'

How true of Israel today. Thank you, Marie, for having the courage to speak the truth about Israel. May the blessing come upon you that God promised to friends of Abraham: ‘I will bless those who bless you and whoever curses you I will curse.’(genesis 12:3).
