RWFL members swap running for self-defence
Members had lots of fun and also learned valuable skills, which they could use if ever faced with an attacker while out on the road.
THIS past Saturday saw members of Amanzimtoti Run Walk For Life (RWFL) swap their running time for a little bit of self-defence training.
The class was presented by Rory Romani who is a training instructor with the police force in Britain.
Rory is a highly qualified instructor and trains the British police force in unarmed self-defence tactics as well as riot control. Members had lots of fun and also learned valuable skills, which they could use if ever faced with an attacker while out on the road.
Fortunately no-one was injured in any of the demonstrations, as some members would be running the annual PDAC 25km from Waterfall to Pinetown on Sunday. Fastest men in from RWFL Amanzimtoti are Warren Gibson in 1hr 53mins and Shaun Finn with the same time. First women home were Jayne Wright and Mandy Willemse in 2hrs 30 mins.
Anyone interested in running or walking in a safe, friendly environment with like-minded people is welcome to contact Lee or Janine on 073-271-1514.
