EDITOR – I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the CCPO officers who responded to a burglary call at my home in Whitfield Drive.
I found that joining the CCPO was the best thing ever.
READ: Join CCPO to do something about crime
On Wednesday, 31 May all police were attending to the protest on our national roads and were unable to respond to emergency calls.
I believe the protest as usual was getting out of control and the men in blue had their hands full.
Thank God for the CCPO who did not hesitate to respond. They sprang into action and even though the burglar had made a break for it, they still managed to track him down arrest him with the stolen goods still in his possession.
If anyone has had clothes stolen in Whitfield Drive, this could be your thief since he was wearing five jackets, a multitude of T-shirts and denim pants. It is worth your while to identify stolen goods so the case against the suspect can be intensified.
Further, since the police were not able to respond, the CCPO took it upon themselves to deliver the culprit to the station for formal booking.
Thank you CCPO and all concerned neighbours who came and offered assistance. If you have not joined the CCPO, do yourself a favour and do it right now.
GRATEFUL RESIDENT
