Appalled by lacking sidewalk appeal from Winkle to Warners

Clearly, the municipality is not providing an appropriate service to this potentially beautiful holiday destination.

EDITOR – As a new resident in Winklespruit I am appalled at the lack of cleaning of our pavements and walkways.

I walk with a couple of women three times a week from Winklespruit to Warner Beach along the pavements, and have noticed how dirty the route is.

Coming from the Upper Highway where the general condition of sidewalks is good, I could not help but notice the contrast and wondered why this is. Clearly, the municipality is not providing an appropriate service to this potentially beautiful holiday destination.Recently I read an article about putting ‘Toti on the map’. What a wonderful idea! Well, maybe it would be a good idea to start by cleaning it up first.

There are so many people wanting jobs. Give these people refuse bags and offer to pay them to keep sections clean. I would be more than willing to regulate this and work with the department.

Lets clean up our sidewalks and get ready for the end of year holidays in our beautiful suburbs on our coastline.
