WHAT a brilliant racing week it was for the Run Walk For Life (RWFL) clan starting with Anna Kapp, who at the age of 68 got to the top of Kilimanjaro.

She is a true inspiration. She said she wanted to do it and trained very hard, which paid off. Well done.

On Sunday two group of athletes went off to race, one to do the 5km Sunflower walk and the other group did the SAPS 21.1/10km walk /run.

All the athletes did extremely well. Annemarie Snyman and Antoinette Russouw did their first 21.1km walk. Well done. Msomi ran with an injury but still managed to finish in good time.

The team for the 100 Miler are ready and will be tapering their training this week as the race starts on Friday, 20 September 7pm. It finishes on Saturday, 22 September at 7pm. Athletes have 24 hours to complete the 161km (50 laps of 3.2km). Some might even attempt to do the 175km (55 laps of 3.2km) in the same time frame, to earn a special medal celebrating Pietermaritzburg's 175th year anniversary.
