Men’s doubles tennis goes down to the wire
The outstanding men’s doubles games were played as well and two couples tied for first place.
AMANZIMTOTI Tennis Club’s mixed doubles championship games were completed on Saturday afternoon.
The outstanding men’s doubles games were played as well and two couples tied for first place, so there will be a play-off on Saturday afternoon, 30 November. This will complete the club championships for this year.
The Tandy Cup competition will be held on Saturday, 7 December. The draw for partners will take place at 12.45pm for a 1pm start.
Format will be a mixed doubles round robin. There is still time to enter your name on the players’ list on the notice board.
At 7pm there will be a prize-giving for the winners and club champions will be crowned as well. Stay and enjoy a pre-Christmas get together.
Members are invited to take along their families to share this time. Snacks will be available.
A list is on the notice board for players who are keen to participate in the mixed doubles league events to enter their names for selection.
Although this league is only in February 2014, it will give the match secretary an idea of the number of teams the club can enter. Members are encouraged to make themselves available for the 2014 league events.
Midweek women are to note that details of the ‘bring and share’ Christmas lunch are on the notice board. This will take place on Wednesday, 4 December in the clubhouse.
